My work comes from everyday life, but in today’s world everyday life includes the mundane as well as the fantastic, the traumatic, and the imaginary.  Because of our advanced communication and democratic freedom, we witness sensational news stories, dramatic television, and heated political debates on any given day. I typically conceive a piece as a reaction to something that I read, see, or think about throughout my daily routine. Through painting, I manage the messages and images that claim my attention and create a picture of the world from the perspective of my particular time and place.
